Change tool palette path?

I have 4 different tool palette locations for separate clients. I created a tool in all of them that changes the tool palette path to a desired client. The problem is that i get a fatal error and acad shuts down when i switch to one of them. I share my palettes on our network and none of my users have this problem.

What is different about my machine?

Anybody seen this before?

We have a toolbar with four CUI commands that change the tool palette path. We have not seen this problem.
