Default Help! Total Newbie - Uvw problem

    Hi all,

I have never used Max before - but have been given the following problem to solve:

"I have 15 particle systems running from 2700-2950 frames, when rendering an error box appears with missing map coordinates. The reason behind so many particle systems is one system would not emit the required amount of particles over of the specified time."

I have no idea what a particle system is - Someone else has run a mapping modifier but this didn't solve the problem.

If someone could give me some kind of clue it'd be great!

    Thanks

I thinki a little more information is in order. Here are some questions i have:

-Which version of MAX are you using?
-How many particles are you trying to emit over that duration?
-Why not use PFlow instead of 15 seperate particle systems?
-What kind of particles are you emitting? Maybe a screen capture of what it looks like...

I'm afraid I have no idea as to the answer of any of those questions apart from the first!

I've managed to send this problem off to Autodesk support now - so hopefully they'll work it all out.

Thanks for your reply Dwayne, sorry I hadn't checked back sooner.

Most of the time I get the "missing map coordinates" I can solve it by finding the object in question and applying a UVW Map modifier, but it seems that's been done...
