crash with object snap

Im running AutoCAD 2005, while copying an item, as I drag past other items with object snaps on, as it is selecting snap points AutoCAD will crash. With previous versions of AutoCAD I have had this problem while Apparent Intersection or Insertion are selected in the settings. These options are not selected and the problem seems more random, even while snapping to a mid point. I've only noticed the problem while copying. Also it is only a 2D drawing.

Could you let us know what your operating system is,
and your hardware configuration?
Does the error occur in every drawing, or only a few?
Is there any error message reported?

You might want to recover the affected drawings,
or insert them as a block into a new drawing and
then exlode the block.

Operating system is Windows XP Pro, service pack 1. Hardware - P4 3.4GHz, 1GB Ram, FX1100 Graphics Card.
No blocks in the drawing, no particular drawing. Problem seems to be random.
I've just done a purge and the problem seems to have gone away. I'll keep and eye on it.
