    Default TEXT and DTEXT

DTEXT was removed as a command in 2004 and is aliased to work in the PGP. There was never an object "DTEXT", the DTEXT command produced text that appear ed dynamically on screen. Originally using the TEXT command you would type and only see your text on screen after hitting enter. So they invented the DTEXT command so that you could see text as it was typed in. On the older machines of the early 1990's the dynamic text could slow things down so you had a choice to use TEXT or DTEXT.

Later the TEXT command was made to work just lilke DTEXT command, so there is no longer a need for both commands because they work identically.

    End of trivia dump.

There was , briefly, a "ptext" command - Paragraph text. It was overtaken by "mtext".

I didn't remember PTEXT, thanks. I didn't use MTEXT for years and have slowly changed to where I never use TEXT any more.
