    Default Drawing Scale With XREF Scaling In List

    Sometimes when I open a file, in the drawing scale list pulldown, will be extra scales with "XREF" at the ends. To clear these XREF scales in the list, I will have to go to OPTIONS and RESET the scaling list.

    How can I make these files ONLY to have the Autodesk default scales in the list? If my discription is not clear enough, I can send in a print screen of what I am talking about.

    Thanks

    * What AutoCAD version?

    * If pre-2009, make sure you have the latest service pack.

    * Clean all your drawings and their references from the bottom up (use the tool linked in the earlier post)

    * Understand that scale list entries are saved in the drawing and that importing an external drawing will import the scale list entries from that drawing. The latest SP will prevent scale list entries in nested reference files from being imported, but scale list entries from top level references will still be imported.

    * There are quicker ways to clean individual drawings than going through OPTIONS. More information plus a menu macro that you can use in a toolbar button can be found here:

    The last three points still apply.
    Also, 2009 has an option to "hide" xref scale list entries, but they can still accumulate in the drawing.

    What it the function to hide them in 2009? Maybe mine is set to hide them since I cannot see the scales in 2009. When I opened the same file in 2008, voila, they show.

    So what is function to turn it on.

    The marcro button I created from the link you sent me worked in 2008/2009.

    Set HIDEXREFSCALES to 1.
