    Default Multiple XREFS and layout tabs

    I am using AutoCAD 07, and am working on a project that has 50+ Xrefs nested in it, and 25 layout tabs. My problem is that when I switch from one layout tab to another, or regen the drawing, it takes several minutes fo AutoCAD to do this. I know that this is a tremendous amount of stuff to have in one file, but does anyone have any tips for speeding up the process, as it is a real time-killer. I have the "Demand load Xrefs" set to "Enabled with copy", and the "Layout Regen Options" set to "Cache model tab and last layout", but these settings don't seem to help.
