i found the Autodesk install and deployment guides on youtube very useful. Question is are they available in PDF anywhere? They would make a good checklist for our IT department who will carry out the actual deployments. I could not find them.

Not that I am aware of. I know that a lot of the instillations have a how to install guide on the disc but they not pdf's.
They are a bit long winded and wouldn't be a direct solution to your IT guys anyways as they would only need a set amount of stuff to do on your network or standalone instillations.
I would suggest making your set of how to install pdf's for your IT company.
