Warnings - some high and some low?

Why do warning messages sometimes show up as a large box at the upper left, some of which can be ignored and others can't, while other messages that can be ignored appear as a small box in the lower right? If you need more info about the latter warning, you can then expand it to become the regular box at the upper left, or just click somewhere else on the screen and it just goes away.

What's the difference?

Upper left are things you have to deal with to continue working.

Lower right - things you can deal with later.

The things you postpone you can find under Settings > Review Warnings.

I've set a shortcut for this - FU - when I want to see what others have messed up.

I don't get why some warnings will pop up at the upper left, but then you can just ignore them by hitting OK and continuing with your work.

The subtle difference is a Revit Warning vs Error
Warning = you can do this if you want, we just thought we'd point out there is an issue that might come back to bite you. e.g duplicate type marks, wall joins interfering with inserted objects etc.
Error = this is physically impossible in the real world or just too complicated for me to deal with e.g. top of wall below bottom of wall, sweep sketch crossing over on itself, design too outrageous or expensive to construct so the client will reject it outright... (wait, that one's not in there )

There are some warning messages that appear on the upper left. From what I've been able to tell, these are messages that provide you with a button for a solution that you can take, whereas the ones on the bottom don't provide any actions.

For example, the "Multiple rooms are in the same enclosed region..." warning appears in the upper left and gives you the button to "Delete Rooms." It also gives you the "OK" button if you want to ignore the warning.

But the "Wall and room separaion line overlap..." warning appears in the lower right part of the screen and doesn't provide a button for an action that will correct the problem. It just says "Color fills, room tags, and room areas may not behave correctly."

You can still ignore either one of these warnings.

Yeah that makes sense... upper left gives you options, lower right doesn't. But you can expand the lower right warnings to the upper left if you want to see WHERE it's happening.
