Exclamation Cursor Freeze / Lockup at Startup

Is anyone else having this problem?
When I start AutoCAD or AutoCAD Architecture 2008 the cursor freezes for 8-10 seconds immediately after the splash screens display. If you have the splash screens turned off it happens as soon as the cursor displays. It is driving me nuts!

Is there a setting that can help or some type of "Hot-Fix"

    Thanks,

    Mike

Default Re: Cursor Freeze / Lockup at Startup

This is caused by lisp routines loading and performing their initial setup. It was more pronounced in 2008 products then previous versions. I don't know of any way to get it to speed up, but I know that if I stop the autoload of all of my lisp routines, the cursor is available immediately after the template loads.

I have not installed ACAD 2009 yet, but will be in the coming weeks to see how it goes. I was waiting for SP1 to hit the road, and since it is out now, I'll be trying to find some time to get things tested.
