Do you mean you want to change the figured dimensions but not actually change the scale of the objects?

No scale change. Just want demensions to be converted from inches to centimeters

Okay go to format the dimension style, then on the primary units tab change the linear dimensions from Architectural to Decimal, then under measurement scale change it from zero to 2.54 to give centermeters or 25.4 to give millimeters, then change the precision as required.
