Default Excel Formula to open drawing layout tab

Using Excel 2000 we have a set up a drawing file register.
In a cell the formula is ="\\ServerName\CADFiles\Mech\XXX.dwg"
Clicking in this cell will open the required AutoCad drawing.

Does any one know how to set the formula to open a specific layout tab of the same drawing ie XXX.dwg layout tab1 or XXX.dwg layout tab named "plan" etc?

    regards

    Wayne

from the Cadalyst website, Jan 15, 2005 By: Lynn Allen:

/layout. This switch will open a specific layout in the indicated drawing file. The syntax is a little different in that you'll specify the drawing file and the layout separated by a vertical bar. For example, if you had a drawing file called ENGINE and a layout called ASSEMBLY:
    "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2005\acad.exe"
    /layout "C:\ACAD 2005 Project\Engine|Assembly"

I know this is a startup switch for the icon, but you could give it a shot and see if it works

i would agree, but it is possible th op has a project database, so if you are looking for a job done in the past, you can click on the link and it will open the drawing, instead of how my office is set up, you look through the list, write down all the possible drawings, then go open them one by one on a different computer, and hope you got the correct one in your list.
