Hatch doesn't return area

How can I fix the error? It seems that any hatch pattern I create does not
return an area.

I have a rectangle with 2 holes. I am stumped.

I haven't seen this. Does the area show up in the Geometry section on the properties pallet when you select the hatch?

last I knew, the area property of hatch really only seemed to work if you has a continuous area with no holes.

I have had problems whit hatch patterns not showing an area if the hatch was created by selecting a polyline with duplicate vertexes or that crossed itself. If I pick points instead of selecting objects I always get an area.

I just tested it with holes in the hatch and it works.

What sort of objects are you applying the hatch to?
That's a modeler error. Yes, hatching is generated by the modeler core but ....?

I am working with closed polylines.
Point/Object selection doesn't matter.
Exploding doesn't matter.

I do not have an elevation.

Geometry tab shows nothing of importance.

Quite the stumper.

Hi Robert,

The objects in your drawing work fine here. Using both pick point and select object methods the hatch area lists correctly. I would suspect something's messed up in your installation; maybe a corrupt modeler dll file or something.

I would try a repair on the installation at this point and see if that helps.
