    Default Hosted Families in RME

I am just getting back into the RME realm and need quick reminder.

What is the best practice for MEP engineers working with a linked architectural model placing families on walls, floors, and ceilings?

Should all of the families be faced-based?

What if a wall or ceiling moves? Does the family move too?

Any links to any collaborative best-practices would be much appreciated.

Recent versions should be faced-based. Take a look at the OOTB content for clues.

Check out the post on our blog about Face Hosted vs. Element Hosted.

The OOTB content appears to all be Face Hosted, which I think you will find is the best practice 90% of the time.

To answer your question YES, your families will move with the faces they are hosted by.
