My boss might know, maybe not. He's not really the techno-geek type. More construction type. Our office manager was the one that set it all up through the phone company - we're running DSL. We moved into an existing space and the office manager is a tight-wad with the owner's money so wireless just made the best sense to him.
With all that being said, the network is plenty fast enough for me since we're just doing the peer-to-peer thing and not having a central server to keep our stuff.
I'm the main drawing guy, everything I do is on my computer, we have automatic online backups every night plus we backup to flash drive every week. So we're satisfied with the speed.
Besides, with work going the way it is (drying up), I'd much rather he put money into my paycheck than into retrofitting cat5 outlets all over the office.
I had the same problem opening files with xrefs and tried one of the suggestions i found and it worked. Perhaps you can try it too.
Flattened the xref dwg using Express Tools, Modify, then Flattened objects then save. that's it.
pls let me know if it worked for you. thanks...
