You might need to run the Repair function on Civil. I have had to do that after a bad file corrupted my computer and it caused Civil to act funny. It works well and takes less than a hour so less down time. Worth a try when you have time to work on the issue.

We've stopped using PC3 files in our office because of problems with them. We found that plots would just disappear from the queue and not plot out. We're using a mixture of autocad/c3d versions which could be causing the problems.

It's not the PC3 files causing those problems.

Okay, but not using the PC3 files caused the problem to go away...
if you have any ideas what the root cause is, I'd be very keen to fix it

    What kind of problems?
How do you get consistent plot output without everyone using the same PC3 files?
Does everyone just print to their system printer and make changes as needed, and create temporary PC3 files?

    Hi,
Plotting with PC3 files sometimes resulted in plots dissapearing into cyberspace. Not using PC3s always works. I haven't known where to start to try to fix it, especially across multiple releases and a mix of LT and Civil3D.
Not saying they're not useful...we just don't use them.
We only rarely make changes to printer settings. It's all controlled through the .ctb file.
