    Default Lost Dialogue Box

When I go to the main header & click on "Format" , the first item is "Layer" - I usually click on it & a window comes up with all my layers, colors, states, etc. I then make a new layer, change the layer color or maybe change the state. Now when I click on the "layer" nothing comes up & I cannot do anything until I press the esc Key. Someone gave me a simple way to find this window that I believe is just out of my view. However, I was not smart enough to write it down. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried the layer command in the command line --- same result - Nothing. Thanks

click on the "layer properties manager" button. Do not click on anything else, then hit these keys on your keyboard: (release each key after)
    "alt"
    "space"
    "down arrow"
    "enter"
    "down arrow"
then move your mouse, the window should be attached.
