    Default Wall Endcaps

I have a problem with an end-cap, I have attached pictures of my predicament.

I have a corner window in a wall, the wall has been removed using a body modifier to produce the opening.

I can't seem to be able to edit the end-cap to produce what I have shown on the solution.jpg

I cannot use in the edit-in place function to produce this

    Appreciate anyones help.

    Regards

    Steve

Id try shrinking your window by 0.0001 so that your wall does go along and therefore should display the end cap properly, note SHOULD lol how that helps

Try using a window assembly instead. See here for tutorial. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet...897&id=3020887

But how would changing to an assembly affect the wall unless another endcap style was made, you would still have the same problem because the window is meeting flush with the other wall so the brick component isnt at that end so the end cap doesnt have a chance to be applied ?

Not nessecarily. In the tutorial they have you use a mass element as an interference condition/body modifier to remove the portion of wall that creates the cleanup problem. You should download the file and play around with it to see what they did. It was pretty inventive...

Had a quick look, so your saying use a mass elem to and attach it as a body modifier to make the brick extend to meet the other component? If thats the case steve woulld still be able to use the existing window

How would he get a window to show one frame hidden? From my experience, you can only turn off specific frames using door/window assemblies.

Yea thats right i forgot about that, he must already have an assembly in there. I think we got mixed up, i was talking about trying to get the two walls to display properly (brick return) i didnt take any notice of the window that was in there, it looks like the window is displayed correctly anyway

From looking at the pic, the horizontal exterior wall vertical exterior wall on the bottom and the interior wall are causing the issue and the window is most likely not helping. Would you be able to post a dwg containing just the intersection of what your pictures show? I'd like to play around with it to see if I can make it behave. I don't nesseccarily feel it's an endcap issue, but it could be...
