    Cool License Manager Issue

    Not sure where to put this so I will post it in the general one here....

    Can you have one LM with (2) AutoCAD 2006 (2) AutoCAD 2007 and (2) AutoCAD 2008? Or do they all have to be on the same version? I am thinking they have to be them same But I have a customer asking so before I say no I wanted to ask for a second opinion

    I know the key has mutiples but how would it work?

    Andy

    FWIW, I have known a setup with network licensing of two different releases of acad but the license server software was running on two different machines. I suspect that it shouldn't have worked that way but it did.

    Hi Andy,

    One license file can have multiple licenses included, so yes, multiple versions work. Just make sure when you receive your authorization that you only copy from INCREMENT down when appending the license file: IE:

    SERVER <servername> <mac address of adapter>
    USE_SERVER
    VENDOR adskflex port=2080
    INCREMENT <product 2006> adskflex 1.000 permanent 7 \
    VENDOR_STRING=commercial:permanent BORROW=720 SUPERSEDE \
    DUP_GROUP=UH ISSUED=08-Feb-2005 SN=XXX-XXXXXXXX SIGN="XXXX \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX" SIGN2="XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX"
    INCREMENT <product 2007> adskflex 1.000 permanent 7 \
    VENDOR_STRING=commercial:permanent BORROW=4320 SUPERSEDE \
    DUP_GROUP=UH ISSUED=07-Jun-2005 SN=XXX-XXXXXXXXX SIGN="16BD \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX" SIGN2="XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX \
    XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX"

    If I recall, you are only allowed to have multiple versions (and it may be limited to the latest version and one version prior) for a certain amount of time, though. Make sure you read the license agreement.
