Default Different Color Styles on Features

    Hi ALL,

    I am a beginner to Invetor (2009).
Can anyone tell me how to add different color styles to 2 features in a part file (*.ipt)?

The problem is that if I change the color style on the first feature, the second feature color will change to match the first one's automatically.

    with thanks in advance.

You can control color by part (upper right corner of screen) or by feature (right mouse button on feature and select Properties) or by face (right click on face and select Properties.

If you need multiple colors on a single feature or face you must Split the faces first.

Zip and attach what you have so far.

As a beginner you might want to go through this document (it doesn't address this problem but many others you are likely to run in to.

    http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/AU2007/...L%20Mather.pdf

Also, assembly level colors do not propogate down to the part level.

I don't mean to multiple colors to different faces on a single feature but on 2 different features (each feature can have a single color).

Is this what you are after?

Your sketches are not constrained. I suggest you read the document I linked earlier.

Sorry, I have had a big fight on my new PC.
I suggest you have a look my thread at the following link:

I looked your attachment and, yes, this is what I want.
    Thanks for your help.

By adding different colors to features, I have to add a split to it.
    Have I misunderstood?

You can also right click on a face and select properties of a face to change the face color.
