    Default Updated Text Font File

A question came across my desk one day about a font for AutoCAD. Some of my draftsmen get a little frustrated when typing in text on a drawing, then seconds later forget to turn CAPS LOCK off then type an e-mail realizing that everything is in UPPERCASE.

Years ago (about release 11) there was a font (HANDLET.shx, I think) in existence that no matter if CAPS LOCK was either on or off your lettering on the drawing would be UPPERCASE. I know now that this font would not work properly because of the special characters (ASCII Code).

Has anyone found an update or something else, or found another way... ?

    UPDATE:
I know that there is a function/option in MTEXT that allows you to type UPPERCASE by selecting "AutoCAPS".

This only works for text done with MTEXT, attributes cannot be created using MTEXT.

    So the question still remains......

    Hi Ted,

When you use Mtext you can turn on "Autocaps" and it will type in all capital letters. Just open the mtext command and right click in the text editing area, Autocaps is on the pop up menu.

    Hope that works for you.

    Regards,
    Ken

thanks, and I added this to my post at the time you sent your reply. However, I would also like to be able to edit/add attributes the same way. But attributes do not use MTEXT.

So you are saying that people do not see that they have caps lock on or that they are typing all caps?? Seems like a user issue not a software issue. One should always check to see if caps lock is on (or off), simple as looking at the little light on the keyboard, not everything can be made automatic.

I had a user that had an issue with our log on password being lower case for the same reason, I told him to get used to it. Interesting what happens when one puts ones mind to work.

    No disrespect.

I know, I know. People are trying to work faster and not think.

    No offense taken.
