    Question Annotation Symbols in text

Is it possible to have symbols like the ones you get in AutoCAD (for those who used to use them might remember)

Like %%P for a +/- sign were the plus sign is over the negative... the degree sign, Center line symbol, Diameter symbol...

I know we can make annotation symbols, but I want them as part of my text... so they can be added to dimensions... +/- dimensions are big when dealing with existing conditions... diameter can be part of a notation label text...

So... Are they there just somewhere I have not seen yet... or are these something I need to hope for in the future...

You may try using the ASCII combinations. These are numbers that are typed along with the ALT key to generate the symbols you want. You may try Google for a list of these. Or just use the Windows character map, where you can visually select them and paste into your text string.

As long as the symbol is part of the character set in your chosen font it can be insterted as text.
Check out hte Character Map application that comes with Windows, choose the font you are using, find the character of choice and then
    1) copy and paste the character fromthe character map
    2) use the alt + #### combination that it shows to insert these characters on the fly. Remeber that you need to enter the numbers from the numeric keypad not the regular numbers across the top of your keyboard.

I actually have two things I have taken from this now and use all the time...

I have a short list of Alt+#####'s with some symbols we use all the time posted on the wall beside my computer... and I have a shortcut on my desktop to the Character Map from Windows... Which I can copy anything from any font... really fun... Lots of useless and interesting characters...
