Tag Anchors

I'm attempting to use the node anchor tool. after selecting Attach object the
C:Select object to be anchored:
Select node on layout tool to anchor to:

What is a LAYOUT TOOL?

help ADT or AutoCAD does not explain. can anyone help please?

A layout tool would be a column grid or a ceiling grid, I believe. I know that you can sometime use spaces as an anchoring object, but I'm not sure if it's a layout tool or not.

Are you trying to put a lite in a door?

I would add that by selecting the door, rt. click, object display, display properties, 'other' tab and add a custom block. As long as the block you are wanting to attach is defined in the drawing, it will appear in the list to select.

use the Curve anchor

or

add layout curve use the the door as the curve this will add nodes to your door that you can use the node anchor with
