Default Steel members below/under other member

    Hi All,

I've been working on a model with lots of steelwork involve. My query is about steel members that are below or under other steel members. Our standard is to show the member below with an offset and in a different linetype but Revit doesn't give me an option to do this ( i'm using a Beam tool), there is no problem for braces as offseting of braces are available on structural settings. The workaround that I did was to use a brace instead of a beam for the members under, but the downside of doing this is that I cant make a clean joint (edit beam joint) to miter and make my model look good. Is there a way to give an offset parameter to a beam? If there isn't, is there a way to use edit beam joint between a "Beam" and a "Brace"?

You could edit the family and use symbolic lines with a visibility yes/no parameter to display it as offset in plan.
