State Seals

By now, most of us are using computer generated Architect/Engineer seals for drawings. I have been tasked with getting seals in a CAD format for all the engineers in my office. Between them all, I have to find them for all 50 states. My question is, does anyone know of a site or resource where a person could go and download a .dwg of the state seals? For the states that allow them, that is. Or, would any of you be willing to send me seals for states, without your name or registration number on them, of course.

So far, I have found that 3 states do not allow computer generated seals; Massachusetts (Rubber Stamp or Embossed only), Mississippi (Rubber Stamp or Embossed only), and New Jersey (Embossed Only). Do you guys know of any others?

The Texas Board of Professional Engineers does not provide a digital seal, but you can use on if you have it, subject to the rules here: http://www.tbpe.state.tx.us/download...ules042708.pdf (see page 53).

I believe Florida requires a wet stamp on every drawing. It is just heresay from one of our engineers. I have no first hand knowledge on Florida.

I actually looked up Florida, and they do allow a computer generated stamp. Before that, they only allowed embossed. I still need a Florida .dwg stamp too

Thanks, that DB helps out with quite a bit of the legwork. Still, is anyone willing to send their CAD versions of seals to me? Maybe we could set up something here that people can just go and download the entire array of seals.

Ok, so far I have New York, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Colorado and Minnesota, that I am posting later this afternoon.

CADTAG on the alternate post explained it well...an electronic seal is just that, electronic. The 'signature/seal' can be created in Acrobat. When you create your .pdf document you can then 'sign and seal' in order to submit for permit. This is still in its infancy as far as I know but several municipalities in South Florida are trying our last nerve with this process. Florida law allows electronic signatures in lieu of 'wet' and 'crimping'. Have faith, we are finally heading into the paperless era...finally!

Last item at the bottom is PEDDS which is what you need to Sign and Seal documents stored electronically.

Also, be aware that many of the local jurisdictions have their own requirements DESPITE what the state requirements say.
