I don't see anything prohibiting the production of a drawing with a digitally produced seal.

Nothing specifically says you can't, but it does say
"4. Rubber stamps, which are identical to the approved seals, in size, design and content may be used by the licensee at his option." Which does not include an electronically produced seal. A follow up call to the board confirmed this. But, if you wish to use a CAD generated seal for Mississippi, you do so at your own risk.

Actually, that item 4 is rather funny. Just how is an engineer supposed to get the seal on said documents if they elect to not get a rubber stamp?

It sounds like Mississippi is very last millennium. I bet they still require a "wet" signature and/or date. We finally got Washington state to dispense with that archaic requirement.

Is the other option an embossing seal...?

Since it is not explicitly defined, apparently no.

Actually, I disagree. If you get technical, the embossing is actually the only true form of "seal". Everything else is a reproduction. New Jersey specifically states that it only allows the "impression" type of seal.

Most states, I have found, require a wet signature. Even if they allow for a CAD generated graphic of the seal.

    That is true in Texas.

In Hawaii, it depends on who you're submitting to. Some agencies take electronic stamp and sig, others just electronic stamp. And one requires you to wet sign with BLUE ink, to make sure it is wet signed.
