Default 2009 Bonus Pack (subscription customers only)

I just stumbled on this in the autodesk web site. Not sure if anyone knew about it.

    AutoCAD 2009 Bonus Pack 1
Before I bring this to a close I want to make sure you know about the release of the first Bonus Pack for AutoCAD 2009. This is only available to subscription customers and adds new functionality to AutoCAD, including:
    • Enhanced measurement tools
    • The ability to reverse polylines and rotate viewports
    • Conversion of SPLINES to polylines
    • Updates to PURGE to remove zero-length geometry and empty text objects
I know I've seen a few posts about people wanting to convert splines to plines. Apparantly, this bonus pack will do it. I'm not sure if you can run it on ACA or not.

    I also found this:

quicker and more thorough method for cleaning drawings is to use the new Regapp ID Cleanup Utility. Using this utility you can remove unreferenced regapp IDs from multiple files (or folders of files) AND from any xrefs that are attached to those files – and all in one operation. Since the utility runs outside of AutoCAD, it can clean more drawings in far less time than manual purging or even purging using a script.

Because of the way regapp IDs can spread to other drawings during xref attachment, this utility provides a good triage step for companies who get unknown drawings in from consultants and vendors and want ensure they are free of unreferenced regapp IDs before putting them on their networks for public consumption

Been using it for weeks.... The measurement enhancements didn't amount to much in my opinion but some of the other tools have been handy.

Thanks DZATTO. I knew about the Regapp ID Cleanup Utility but not the Bonus Pack.

Here are some helpful and some not so helpful links:
    Regapp ID Cleanup Utility
Excess unreferenced regapp IDs causing performance issues
    Subscription Downloads

The Subscription Downloads link was all I could find when I did a search for the Bonus Pack on the Autodesk website. It just provides information on the Bonus Pack and leads you to subscription login.

Apparently this bonus pack is not available for subscribers with a vertical application instead of AutoCAD. All of our licenses are Civil 3D and this is not one of the choices for me to download. I am contacting Autodesk to see how I can download it.

I have Civil3D also ... can you post their answer here.

I also notice that they have release service pack 2 for AutoCAD which fixes a bug with annotative text that is modified using ENTMOD ... a major problem for me ... still waiting for them to release that fix for C3D

I have inventor 11 subscription. I mostly use Acad Mechanical under this subscription.
Why can't autodesk release these tools for everyone?

All I see are some updates to inventor when I login to my account.

I'm still waiting to find out how I can get the Bonus Pack. Subscription support has been down for almost 24 hours now. I called the ABC and they couldn't help. I am going to try my reseller and email subscription help. I'll keep you posted.

This explains why I haven't gotten an email back

The response from my reseller is not encouraging.

They tried to install the Bonus Pack on a computer that only had Civil 3D on it and got the attached message. According to the message it is looking for an AutoCAD "related" product. Hmm, AutoCAD Civil 3D is related to AutoCAD, don't you think? I do, but I guess Autodesk doesn't.

Regardless it would not let them continue with the install.

Still waiting to here from Autodesk.

Cool Re: 2009 Bonus Pack (subscription customers only)

Anyone hear anymore on this? I am looking at trying to impliment this to our users. However all of our liscences are converted to Revit Archiectural Suite. Everytime I go to the subscription center to try to download the bonus pack (after I search for it because it's not on my list) it says the page cannot be found (which may also be because of the site being down per previous posts).

    Anyhelp would be appreciated. Thanks.
