    Default "Annotative" Linework

I know that lines can not be annotative, however this seems to best describe what I want to do.

I have numerous viewports at different scales, many of them showing the same areas at differing scales.

What I would like to be able to do is turn off or hide selected linework in the different viewports, similar to annotative text ie assign it to a scale and only show it or hide it in a viewport with that scale.

I know that you can turn off layers in viewports, but was looking for a less complicated way of solving the problem ... to do this I would need to split a single layer into multiple layers as I would need to display some of the linework in the layer while not display other linework

    I hope this makes sense.

I have not been able to find a solution to this problem...

    Thanks for your help

I believe using layers is your only option in this case.

The only other option that I can think of, is to place each segment of line work into an Annotative block, where each block is on the same layer, but is assigned their respective scale(s).

    Cheers

Have you tried using the Freeze In New Veiewport Layer Properties? Basically, you have a viewport already set that has all of the layers you want in it. You then select the layers you dont want to show up in any new viewports you make, but clicking on the New Icon in the Layers Manager Dialogue box. Than make the new viewports and layers will not show up in them.

I know its not exactly what you are looking for, but it might help.
