tahking a 3d model from revit into sketchup

having problems exporting 3d model from revit into sketchup.i tried exporting as a dwg,but it just produces lines on a plain.I exported with dxf into autodesk viz.it came out as a 3d model,but all the materials and textures are gone,and it's fuzzy.anyone have any ideas.really need the help

You have to be in a 3D view in Revit then export to dwg. but the materials will not transfer to SketchUp.


If you want to go Revit to Google Earth, you can use the Revit Google Earth Extension which will not only export your model to a Sketchup format, but it will place it in the correct site and orientation in Google Earth.

That links to an autodesk page that doesn't list a Revit to Google Earth Extension.?? Was Revit dropped, anyone know? I haven't been able to find the Revit to Google Earth Extension

It should be a available from the membership subscription site. You need a login and password. Otherwise you could try the Avatech Revit Add-on solution.

The Google Earth Plug-in for Revit is called Globe Link, and is available on the
Subscription site.
