Can anyone tell me how i can restore a revit file using the journals?

Drag the journal file ontop of the Revit Icon (with Revit Closed). It will open Revit and begin constructing the file again, provided the journal file is complete.

One word of warning. The journal file runs per session of Revit and does not contain the entire history of the file if it was created in a prior session. If the file you need is a central file, use the backup utility under the file menu to recreate the file back to a known point in time. This does not work on non-central files.
