    Default Block Grips

I have finally managed to create a few blocks via VBA but have noticed that they differ from manually created blocks in that the grips for text do not show.

The attached picture shows what I mean. The left symbol is a hand built one and shows the text grips whilst the right hand symbol does not.

    Anyone know the reason why?

    Thanks

"Text grips"? Text inside a block would never have a grip. Are you talking about attributes?

I don't see any grips on the left block. I see some type of text-based object and some linework.

Are you working on vanilla AutoCAD or some vertical?

Hi Robert, It appears that I may have given you a bum steer afterall I didn't realise it but that text I was talking about was actually an attribute.

What I wanted to be able to do was to move the text around independently after the block was created. The left block allowed me to do this however the right didn't; I now now that this was to do with the fact that the text on the left block is in fact an attribute and allows me to do exactly what I want.

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the reply...seems you learn something new every day

So you are now going to use an attribute for the block on the right, correct?

Be sure to not lock the attribute position where you want independent movement of an attribute. However, that attribute cannot then be controlled by dynamic block properties if that is desired.
