    Default Wipeout Dimension Text?

Can you wipeout deminsion text globally in a dimension style?

    I can't find anything.

Maybe by the text style that the dime style uses?

Not sure about 2009 but in 2006 yes.
In the dimstyle dialog while modifying (or creating) the dimstyle,
go to the "Text" tab, go to "fill color" (3rd option down) and select "background".

    Does that help?

Yep, that's how you do it in 2009 also.

Wipeout dimension text? What for? Curious.

    Random unrelated thought:
I notice a setting called qtext that will show boxes
instead of text. I use it whenever I need to do a part check.
I can write my measurements in the empty boxes.

    I need my wakeup juice.

I think the OP was referring to wiping out what's behind the dimension text, not the dimension text itself...(at least that's how I understood it).

Yea, the qtext thing is cool, I think it was originally meant for dumbing down the text graphics for quicker regens back in earlier releases like R12, but I'm not totally sure about that.

Yeah, that's right but it's a LOT older than R12.

I think the term should be dim text masking. And the Fill Color and Text Color should be different...

    I agree.

For masking, Fill colour will normally be set to "Background".
