    Default Truss diagonals keep moving

    Hi all,

I have a group of trusses which are quite similar to the Pratt Flat Truss family. The main difference is my trusses do not have verticals at the ends.

I placed the trusses using the truss tool in RS2009, then deleted the end verticals. My biggest problem is some of the end diagonals will not keep their workpoints attached to the end of the top chord, they keep trying to go to the end of the non-existent end verticals.

Another thing about these trusses is the panel widths vary to allow for support of flat areas in the ramp they support. This has not presented a problem for me, just thought it would be good to let anyone who looks at this know.

I guess I need to know if I am "barking up the wrong tree" by trying to use trusses in this manner. I feel like I am pretty close to what I need of them, if I could just get those end diagonals to stay where they should be.

I am attaching a pdf which will hopefully show more of the issue.

    Thanks for the help,

    Jeff
