Red face attaching images, file path not retained for network

i am using AutoCAD 2004 mapping & 2007LT, my work is saved on a server (networked), when i open the drawing on another PC, i see the path route and not the image on the drawing, i have the DWG & JPEG saved in the same folder on the server (Z:/), when attaching the image to the drawing i selected retain file path. the drawing opens ok on my pc with image attached but not on other pc's on are network, how can i save the drawing with the image attached so others can open and view on are network ?

Is "Z:" on the "other pc" mapped to the same location?
Does it have read access to this location?

If the dwg and jpg files are always saved in the same folder, the easy fix should be to reference without paths. Acad will always look in the folder that the dwg file is opened from.

The only things I can think of...

    * AutoCAD does not have access to the file in question (you say you have verified this though)
    * AutoCAD does not support the file type (you said .JPG, which should be OK)

As a test - create a new drawing in the same directory as this image. Attach the image with NO PATH. Save the drawing. Now open the drawing on the "other pc". Does the image show up?
