    Default DOS command prompt

    How to call DOS command window in ACAD?
    I did it in ACad14 & 2000, but unfortunately forgot it

    Windows Start menu, pick Run... and type cmd

    you've got a multitasking OS, it's not DOS

    It's not DOS as in "MS-DOS" but it is dos as in "disk operating system".

    for some reason it may open and close real fast in newer versions. you may have to open the dos engine through the start menu or run prompt first then run SHELL in autocad so it will stay open.
