Hi Robert,
I'm using Autotable from Cadig.
Take a look at http://cadig.com/products/
Working really great and saved us lot of problems trying to use Autocad's Tables feature.
There's a FREE 30-day trial version.

Mandy, third party software is not necessary. You can do as Robert suggests and use DATALINK command, which inserts the Excel sheet as a table in AutoCAD as you updated the Excel Sheet the AutoCAD table is updated also and vice versa. If you simply want to place the Excel data into AutoCAD with no link, then
1) Highlight all cells in Excel that need to be in AutoCAD
2) Right-click and choose copy
3) open the AutoCAD drawing
4) Click on the top EDIT menu then pick paste special
5) make sure the paste button is highlighted
6) in the window pick "AutoCAD entities"
7) click at an insert point for table.
you should have an editable AutoCAD table with the Excel Data.
This works in 2007 & 2008 and should work for 2009 as well.
Capt. I'm still using Autocad 2007, is DATALINK a new std command in 2009, it's not working in my 2007 ?
