Default Is there a variable to turn off "Show Preview" for images?

When I insert an image into a drawing, Autocad always defaults to "Show a preview" of the image. Is there a variable to tell Autocad to always hide preview?

That would be handy. I hope the answer to this is yes. I will be watching this thread.

When the Select Image File dialog opens you can hide the preview before you select an image and it will remain set that way for duration of the AutoCAD session oor until you change it.
