    Default Plot Preview

Okay, new office, loaded 2009 on a Dell desktop, and just set up the new Ricoh Aficio 2400.
Direct connect to the desktop until we get the network set up.
    Plots just fine, perfect color.
When I do a plot preview I get a color preview, but all pens are mapped to #7.
It plots fine, lineweights are correct.
When I check the box in page set up that asks to display plot settings it displays in color.
Is it the driver or the passanger?

"All pens are mapped to #7"? AutoCAD hasn't used "pens" since R14, has it?

Are you using a color-based plot style or a named-based style?
Is the plot style table one of the out-of-the-box tables?

If an OOTB table, copy it and modify the styles to plot as color black. Color-based will need to get all 255 colors remapped.

Named-based plot styles will need a new style (you cannot change the Normal style) where the new style plots color black, and then apply that plot style to all your layers, assuming nothing is plot style-by-object.

Hi Robert, thanks for looking at this.
The pen #7 is in the plot style manager, I am using a color based plot style.
I set all of my pens to #7, then set my linetypes to what I want that color to be, .20 up to .50.
So all colors are use object color and all pens are #7.

Man, I feel stupid again, after you answered it snapped, I don'y know what I was thinking. I went back and modified my color and set the pens back to default Silly rabbit.

I did have a glutch with the "display plot styles" option, I will check again in the morning and if it is still tweeked I will let you know maybe I did a double stupid human trick.

    Thanks Robert.

Please post screenshots (.png files) of your plot dialog and plot style table.

    Robert,
Here is what I am doing, I have created a 3d model of a restaurant.

And I set up a layout and created a vport and used a camera view.

Then I applied a visual style, 3D Hidden, and then I tweeked the jitter and overhang so I can give my boss that hand drawn look he wants.

At lunch I got to thinking, this actually uses a render to plot, right?

So it is plotting in color and previewing in color.

I set up the same vport, and changed the vstyle to 2d wireframe, and it goes to b&w, so it is the visual style.

Okay, how do I plot a camera view in black and white?

Ah, the devil is in the details.

Are there options in the visual style properties? I'm not on a CAD machine, so I cannot check.

From looking in Help - try setting VSFACECOLORMODE = 1 and (maybe) setting VSMONOCOLOR = 0,0,0 (that seems rather extreme).

It may be easier to tell the printer to print grayscale through the printer driver and leave the visual style as is.

I know, sometimes it is so obvious to us we forget the details.

I got a ticket for speeding.
    I was only going 65.

Oh, yeah, I was in a residential area.

And there was a school in front of me.

    And a crosswalk.

    And kids crossing...........
