Using Parameters from Content Center Parts in BOM/Part Lists

I'll get right down to what I'm trying to do:

The PEMs that come in Inventor's content center have a parameter called H_Size that shows the size the hole needs to be for the PEM to be inserted. We would like that to be shown in our Parts List on our drawings with the PEM. Unfortunately that value is not selectable in the Parts List Properties list. When I go into the PEM part in an assembly, I can go to the parameters dialog box and there is an "export parameter" box that I think would allow me to do what I want to do, however When i try to select it tells me that it can't modify the library file.

probibly 99% of the drawings we do use PEMs so if we could get this to show up on our Parts list using the parameter instead of having to manually type it in, it would greatly speed things up. Please Help!

The problem you are experiencing is because you are opening a file from a location that is considered read only. If you use the default project file you might be able to open the files and make the changes. Otherwise you can accomplish this by editing the content center file. I have created custom content center files which will do what you are asking. You do have to create a read/write library before you can edit a content center file. I will expand on how you do this if you would like.

Is there a way to change the name of column in the parts list as well, or does it have to go in as H_Size?

You can call the parts list columns any name you like. You can also combine text and the value of the parameter in a formula to fill in a new column in the part list. Let me know if you need additional info.
