Try creating it in your 3D view instead.

tried but it wont do it. It makes like 4' of flex when i just want like a small distance(2ft?)
is there away to do it so that when i connect the ductwork from the main loop to that diffuser that it draws 1ft of flex automatically?
thanks guise
Do you have a minimum flex duct length set (at like 4ft)?

Strange, it works for me - try setting your minimum duct length to 6" and then make sure you are placing the flex duct at each duct connection snap.

ok i went to mechanical properties, set the min flex length to 6"
then i tried to draw a duct from the end of that other duct and it wouldnt clip onto the diffuser...
then i tried to go from the diffuser up to the duct and it drew the flex duct length over 4' instead of a few feet like i planned...
maybe if i could draw 2feet of flex going vertically up from the diffuser and then just connect each duct to it?
how do i draw 2feet of vertical flex? i cant draw it from the section view
maybe i have to add it to the family block?????????
hrmmm
What I do is..
Connect my diffuser with hard duct, then going to a plan view, under the mechanical tool bar there is a Convert to Flex Tool I use.. you can specify the duct length before you touch the diffuser...
