iMates in an iPart

Hi,

I use dowels in the construction of my cabinets and would like to fill the holes for the dowels with dowels. I created a dowel part with a iMate and turned it into an iPart.
I gave the iMate a list of iMates to align with and saved the iPart.

Then I went to an existing assembly and attached an iMate to a hole with the correct name as was in the iPart list.
When I bring in the iPart and tell it to use the iMates it does not find the iMate in the assembly.

What am I doing wrong, and where is there a good example of how to create both the iPart with an iMate and the matching iMate in the assembly?
