    Default Save/Open crashes CAD

AutoCad is closing when I open and/or save a file.

Any ideas what may be causing the error?
    Is there a hotfix?

One particular file, or any file?

I periodically have experienced this, and I never downloaded dwgtabs for 09.

    Robert:
I think your asking alot!!! Opening and saving a drawing??? Can't you just be content with your capability to draw lines and plines, circles and other geometeric shapes??
Can you plot? Maybe plotting can be a viable solution to your saving problem. Draw...Plot....Erase...........Draw....Plot.....Erase...........Draw....Plot.....Erase

    So funny, weisenheimer

I do have one program that does exactly that. It generates a view that cannot be saved.
I think it was meant for explorating options instead of producing actual specs.
I have to take multiple screen captures.

How are you accessing the save and/or open commands? If you are using the FILE pulldown then check this out.

else maybe Mditab.arx is corrupt. Do you get the same results from typing the commands at the command prompt?? Toolbars?

It won't close the drawing tabs, it will just remove that so-so add on autodesk provided. If you use it then getting rid of it will let you save and open. Seems like an easy choice.
