    Default ArcSDE Connection

I am having trouble getting an ArcSDE Connection.

I am running AutoCAD Map3D 2008 and ESRI products 9.3.

Yes, I have added all the required ".dll" files.

The problem occurs once after I enter my credentials for the connection.

It prompts me saying that my login has failed and that the specified credentials are not valid or the provider is unable to establish a connection.

Do I just need to contact my system admin?

    Thanks.

I had some 9.1 .dll files. Removed the 9.3 .dll files and added the 9.1 files and I was able to connect fine.

So I am guessing that 9.2 nor 9.3 does work well with Map3D 2008...????

Apparently, this page says that the provider is still at 9.1. However, FDO is at ver 3.3 and may be updated to work with 9.3. I didn't check trac to verify.

I am getting the same error message with map3d 2010 and esri 9.3.

    "the specoified credentials . . ."

is anyone connecting straight to oracle without the sde? That is what i am trying to do.

    Yikes. Thank you,

To follow up on my connection issues using Map 3D straight to oracle or using an SDE connection. Our workstations use an Air Force Standard Desktop Configuration (SDC) for security purposes.
The problem is all in what version of the SDC is on each workstation. We are looking into fixs that will not comprimise the SDC.

The latest version will let me use SDE connection but still not Oracle. I will have to wait on the admin folks to come up with a workaroun.

    Thanks,
    Freda
