AutoCAD Preferences Not Sticking!

None of my preferences, recent dwgs or other settings are sticking when i restrart AutoCAD. More of an annoyance than anything, but is there a way I can fix this?

Do you have sufficient user rights to write to the registry? How long has this been happening? Any other troubleshooting info you can provide would be helpful.

If it is the security on a folder which i think it is...what folder would it be - where the cui file is in the support folder?

Yes the cui is in the support folder, but you mentioned problems not related to the cui. Recent drawings is stored in the registry. When you said "preferences", we would assume you meant things set in the Options dialog.
