    Question Epson 7600 AutoCut to Exact Page Size

    AutoCAD 2000
    Epson 7600 Printer with .HDi driver
    Need Work around

    Problem

    We have 420mm wide roll plain paper and want to plot A3 (420mm x 297mm) CAD drawings to bind within A4 reports and want to use the Auto cut facility on the 7600 to save manual cutting.

    Apart from having to set up a custom paper size to take into account non-support of 420mm wide Roll Paper, how can we get the 7600 to cut the paper to A3 height(297mm high): instead the 7600 adds c.10mm to top and bottom giving a final AutoCut size of 420mm by 319mm.

    Hi

    Either -

    Adjust the printable margin's

    Allow for the printable margin's

    Setup custom paper size's (personally I don't think this option is such a big deal, we use this approach for all our AutoCAD output devices).

    Have a good one, Mike

    Hi Mike

    Thanks for you assistance

    Presumably you mean Print with No Margins.

    If so, I've already tried this, but it doesn't seem work to work as the driver doesn't support 16" or 420mm wide paper for borderless printing.

    mmmm

    This is frustrating - or I'm thick

    Hi

    If the Driver doesn't support "border-less printing" you will need to take into account the paper margin at plot time ie

    Real A3 Paper size - 420 x 297 (No margin) -> 0,0 -> 420,297
    Printable A3 Paper size - 410 x 287 -> 5,5 -> 415,292
    Therefore set your printable area to match -> 5,5 -> 415,292

    Frustrating

    Hi

    Give that a go, am afraid you need to experiment with different options to find the settings that work for your needs.
