Default Drafting view of a famliy that's not included in a schedule

    Hi
    I'm using '09

I want to create a detail (1:20 scale) drawing sheet of certain families so that they can be dimensioned & annotated.

I obviously don't want to these families to appear in my schedules.

I thought I could add an extra instance of these families into a drafting view, but dicovered that's not possible.

The only way I can think of doing this is create views of an instqance of each of the families that are already in the model, hide any elements I don't want ot show & rotate the view so that thay are aligned orthogonally.

Is this the best/only way to do it?

    Hope you can help.

Use a legend. In the design bar, place a legend component. Youll be limited in what you can do with it, but thats how you do it.

Or, do a search for "Future phase legend" or "past phase legend" for detailed explanations on what some of us are doing to circumvent the limitations of Legends...
