    Default infilling a dormer opening

I have several dormers that I need to demolish during new construction and infill with a sloping roof. I cannot changes phases of the opening itself to demolish in new construction and infilling the opening with a new roof leaves a triangular void at the top (infill roof is vertical/opening is horizontal)

    any suggestions?

One way to accomplish what you want is to cut your dormer openings with a roof based family you can make up that contains only an opening that matches the opening you need for your dormers.

This family will follow phasing, where the opening tool will not.

You can then demolish the openings, and your roof will infill.
