    Default Hollow polyline and solids in modelspace

    2nd problem of the day...having fun now

    User's drawing (ACAD 2007) has polylines and solids in modelspace that are "hollow".

    Fillmode=1
    Shademode=2d wireframe

    Plines and solids are fine in the Layout (thank God for small mercies - it plots ok)
    Plines and solids are fine if copied and pasted into another drawing.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    likely - set PLAN = Current UCS
    possible - set TARGET = 0,0,0

    If the PLINES are drawn on a different UCS you need to view them head-on. UCS OBject select polyline, then PLAN Current UCS. But that may stuff your drawing around a bit

    but would they plot okay?
    more likely that the mspace view is not a plan but the vport view is a plan.

    You're probably correct, I'm just thinking of any and all possibilities.

    I had the opposite problem. Unlock the viewport, type PLAN, select WORLD, reset viewport scale, reposition items in viewport, LOCK viewport. The key to both problems seems to be the PLAN.

    Yes, that's exactly what jaberwok was referring to . PLAN changes the view to be dead-on-straight to the selected UCS (usually World). 2dSolids / PLines with width usually display as outlines if the view is not dead-straight onto them.

    Now if your viewport is not "Plan" on WCS, most probably someone has also changed the UCS. In which case, it might even be that the polylines were drawn on a different UCS than world. In which case PLAN World could actually cause the problem.

    If you're forced to display polylines at an "angle", you're stuck with outlines only. Otherwise you could use a realistic / conceptual visual style ... ... but that's probably not what you'd want for technical drawings
