Default Acad 09 UI --> booting

    This is a strange one.

I've got a machine at with XP SP2. Has previously had Acad 05 and 08 on it. When AutoCAD 09 is run, the acad.cui doesn't load. An error message says that it cannnot be found, even though it is obviously there on the disk and the rights are as usual.

Now here's where it get weird into ways:

If you do nothing but draw using keyboard commands, AutoCAD runs fine. However, if you touch the mouse to the red "A" in the upper left of AutoCAD, the machine will reboot.

    or...

If you load the acad.cui with the menuload command, it loads but none of the toolbars or pulldown menus appear. Then AutoCAD finally issues the "Ribbon" command as part of the menuload and suddenly, the machine reboots.

I have tried removing all the .net and loading V3. I have tried a reinstall of AutoCAD as well.

    Thoughts?

The CUI uses XML, so have you reinstalled Microsoft's XML support?
