    Default Linetype displaying abnormal

    Hi
besides lineytype scale, psltscale, what else would affect
    the display of linetypes ?
I have a cad file , some of the machines in my company
can see the linetypes (not customized) of hidden, hidden2...
    displaying normally, but some cannot.

    Any help is appreciated

in 2008 and above there is a new one msltscale, which affects the display of linetypes based on the current annotation scale. But that is saved per drawing, so if one machine can see it another should as well, perhaps video cards?

Does the linetypes display differently in the same drawing? E.g. PC1 shows the linetypes, PC2 shows them as continuous? That may be something to do with graphics card / ram differences.

    Yes, exactly as your example.
PC1 shows hidden, but PC2 shows continuous. BUT
if zoom in many many times, then PC2 can see the lines
are hidden as well or scale the lines up 1000 times.

I do believe it is due to hardware difference, but just want
to make sure besides replacing graphic gards, any
feasible settings can be made to sort out the prob.

check the measureinit system variable and make sure it is the same on both systems, this could be causing the problem, as possibly on pc1 it is set to 0 and pc2 it is set to 1, Imperial on one and Metric on the other.

A factor of 1000 could suggest that one is metres (6) and one millimetres (4) though this shouldn't affect 1 drawing seen on 2 machines.

My IT manager just checked with Adesk that it is
due to a bug in ACAD2008.

    Thanks for all replies.

is it the "linetypes disappear after installation of a service pack"? If so, just download the hotfix that Autodesk posted and it should fix your problem.

    AdImaging.dll

this is the file our IT Man downloaded and asked us to copy
    to Acad Current folder.

The problem is not hidden lines change to continuous.
    Hidden is still hidden.
Just one needs to zoom in very large scale to see the line types.

    thx
