Angry problem opening 32 bit version with 64 bit version

I just tried to open a 32 bit file in the 64 bit version of Revit Architecture 2009... and Revit reports that the file is corupt, I verified that the file opens in the 32 bit version before and after the attempt to open in the 64 bit version, and it works fine.... so much for compatiblity between 32 and 64 bit versions.

Any ideas on how to fix this FAST... mean while... back to using a slow laptop.

Make sure you are using the same and most current build and Service Pack for both 32 and 64 bit Revit.

Open the Central File in 32 bit Revit
Check the Audit check box--this will find any corrupt families, etc.
Once open, Purge Unused. This may take a few minutes.

    Save to Central
    Save a new local copy
    Close Revit 32 bit

Open the Central File with 64 bit Revit. Then save as a new local copy
    Save to Central.

This should fix the problem. If not, submit to Revit Support.

FYI--we are using both 32 and 64 bit Revit and have not had any problems.
Usually the problem is the reverse of yours--files created in 64 wo'nt open in 32 because of lack of RAM.

    good luck!!
